The masters of ceremony for this jubilee evening were the comedians Lado Bizovičar and Jurij Zrnec. Events marking the 20th anniversary also included the donation of a sculpture Obrazi (Faces) by Jakov Brdar to the City of Ljubljana, in which we have already lived for 20 years. It will graces Ključavničarska ulica (Locksmith Street) in Ljubljana's Old City.

Judging by polls, clients rate us higher than other pharmaceutical companies, which shows that we are realising one of our basic principles: to look after our clients. We have an excellent range of medicines, by which we are known over a wide area, from Prague to Skopje.

Our relations with partners are excellent, both those at home and those abroad, since we are always there to help. This was also demonstrated by the large number of our customers and partners that attended the 20th anniversary celebrations. Domestic and foreign partners greatly appreciate us«, said Tone Strnad, managing director of the Medis company, at this celebratory event.



Medis was founded in 1989 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Today, it includes a number of subsidiary companies, which operate over most of Central and Southeast Europe. Around 200 staff are employed. It must be stressed in particular that this is intellectually and technologically demanding work, focused on professional communication with specialists and, therefore, predominately performed by staff with high qualifications. The products are supplied to the markets of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Hungary and Albania and Medis intends to expand further. Medis provides manufacturers and other partners from the pharmaceutical industry a complete range of services, including market research, strategic planning, registration, purchasing, promotion, monitoring possible side effects of medicines, and the warehousing, sale and distribution of medicines. Involvement in basic research in the development of their products should also not be forgotten.



The basic guideline for the Medis company is: »We work hard, intelligently and thoroughly honestly. We want to surpass the existing«, and its driving force is innovation.

As a socially responsible company, Medis regularly sponsors various groups and individuals involved in culture and sport, as well as hospitals and other health foundations. In Medis, we also celebrate together the great achievements of sportspersons, such as the free diver Jure Daić (who has recently achieved a number of national records), the boxer Dejan Zavec  (world champion welter, IBF version) , the tek-wan-do fighter Martina Zubčić, whom we have helped to achieve top results through sponsorship funds. In the cultural field, we are also sponsoring the promising young pianist Ana Šinkovec, the violin jazz player Peter Ugrin, the jazz singer Nina Strnad, the Slovenian France Marolt folklore group, the SKPD Sveti Sava, the Medis Črnuče local choir and projects of several major cultural institutions. In the humanitarian field, we support Slovenian Red Cross, as well as occasional humanitarian projects. We regularly donate to hospitals and the healthcare system.
